Information We DON'T Collect
We believe in privacy by design. Compass Explorer:
- Does NOT collect or store your location data
- Does NOT track your movements or destinations
- Does NOT require an account or login
- Does NOT share any data with third parties
- Does NOT use analytics or tracking libraries
Location Services
Compass Explorer uses your device's GPS solely to:
- Display your current position on the map
- Show your heading and coordinates
- Calculate distances to destinations
This information never leaves your device. We cannot see where you are or where you've been.
Map Data
Map tiles are provided by Apple Maps. When you view maps, your device connects directly to Apple's servers. We do not intercept or store any of this data. Please refer to Apple's privacy policy for information about their data practices.
Cached Maps
When you cache maps for offline use, they are stored locally on your device only. We have no access to these cached files.
Permissions
Compass Explorer requests the following permissions:
- Location (While Using App): Required for compass and GPS functionality
- Precise Location: Enables accurate coordinate display and navigation
Children's Privacy
Compass Explorer does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13, as we don't collect any personal information at all.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify users through an app update description.
Your Rights
Since we don't collect any data, there's nothing to request, delete, or modify. Your privacy is protected by design.
